This morning I found myself grabbing my iPad to read the newspaper. Why? I have been testing out a phenomenal newspaper app reader called PressReader and it’s quite possibly the best app I’ve used aside from the Twitter app. PressReader gave me a six month free trial of their app, but it hasn’t taken me nearly that long to realize how wonderful this newspaper reader is.
If you visit Mom Blog magazine on your mobile phone it will look exactly like it does on your desktop. On a tiny device that just won’t do. So, I heard about MobStac.com and decided to great a mobile version for Mom Blog magazine. You can access it at momblogmag.mobstac.com.
Some apps I happen across just make me giggle while still being very useful. Today I offer you Sit or Squat, a unique app to find and rate public restrooms. I should mention that this app and service are provided by Procter & Gamble, but it is free to use.
Undoubtedly the camera is one of our favorite parts of our iPhones. I do not think a day passes that I do not use the camera at least once. While many of the pictures I use as is, there are some that just lend themselves to using various filter programs. Right now it seems Instagram is one of the favorite programs out there for creating an instantaneous nostalgic feel to our iPhone photographs.
If you are like me you have multiple computers and devices that you use regularly. I am always looking for ways to simplify sharing files across all of those devices. Dropbox is a service which allows you to keep files in sync between your desktop, laptop, smartphone, and internet. They call it a “magic pocket” because everything you need is with you all the time.
I am terrible with names, I always have been. At blogging events I use my iPhone to take pictures of the new people I am meeting, but sadly I forget many of their names. When I found Labelboxthe other day I was thrilled because now I can instantly label my photos and remember who those people are or what I am taking a picture of.
Need some professional help with your Apple product? There’s an app for that (shocking I know). This is not the App Store, it is the Apple Store app instead. This is a must have app, in my opinion, for your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
Everyone asks me about the best apps to download, but sometimes people forget that there are some really great apps included on their devices right out of the box. Some may not be as fancy as others, but the can pull their own weight in functionality. Today I share with you the humble Clock on your iPhone.
Some of us are more creative than others with our blog posts. I find there are some apps that help me become more creative. I came across Comic Strip, available for both the iPhones and the iPad as one of those tools to help my creativity.
Along with using social media apps we are already familiar with there are new apps that come out that let you start right from your phone. One of my favorites is the Foodspotting app. I knew nothing about this before a friend showed me the app and I downloaded and installed it immediately. This became a new way for me to spread my reach in social media on its own. For any foodie this is a must have app.
I’ll admit it: I’m a Twitterholic. I need to be able to send tweets while on the go. There are plenty of ways to do this, but one of my favorite tools is TweetDeck.
The majority of campaigns on which I work, I charge a flat fee. But there are a few that I bill based on time worked. So I need an easy way to keep track of the actual time I am putting into jobs to keep the billing process balanced and stay on target with my fees.
Many bloggers travel frequently and already know the basic rules of what is and is not allowed at the airports and on planes these days. There are also many bloggers that do not travel all that often and they have questions about TSA rules when flying.
This week I want to tell you about one of the handiest apps I have found for the iPhone 4. It isn’t an app that does a ton of things, but the one thing it does, it does very well. LED Light for iPhone 4 is a simple app that allows you to turn on the LED light on the back of your phone and use it as an actual light instead of just a flash during picture-taking.
I gave up our landline telephone a couple of years ago. Now I only use my cell phone plan and Skype for telephone calls.
