Walking in the #StrutMoms Show

Strut: the Fashionable Mom Show

When I made my blogging and social media predictions for 2012 about mom bloggers and fashion I had no idea it would come true in such a huge way. Last Thursday I was one of several mom bloggers who walked in the StrutMoms fashion show, the very first fashion show for moms, at Lincoln Center during Fashion Week. Strut — The Fashionable Mom Show was put together by Denise Albert and Melissa Gerstein of The Moms, Audrey McClelland and Vera Sweeney of Getting Gorgeous, Holly Pavlika, managing director of  Big Fuel, a New York full-service marketing and communications company, and founder of Momentum and Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, director of fashion at Lincoln Center. It was a fairly surreal experience…

Marc Jacobs Laptop, iPad Covers in Store

Marc by Marc Jacobs

I popped into South Moon Under and ran into Marc by Marc Jacobs laptop sleeves and iPad covers. I have mentioned Marc Jacobs iPad covers before, and while I do not have a relationship with the Marc Jacobs brand, I thought it would be cool to show how the products look in real life as opposed to on a e-store thumbnail.

Tech Bags from Coach

Coach Tech

This week I decided to check out what Coach has to offer for your tech items from your laptop, to tablet, to your smartphone. I like that Coach has democratized fashion. Its prices are way more affordable than say, the iPad cases I featured by Jimmy Choo or Salvadore Ferragamo.

Jimmy Choo iPad, iPhone Cases

I have a little series going about high fashion and tech. I have created sets of iPad cases designed by Tory Burch, Marc Jacobs, Salvadore Farragamo, and today’s it’s all about iPad and iPad cases from Jimmy Choo.

Salvatore Farragamo iPad Cases

Salvatore Ferragamo

I’m at it again with more couture iPad cases because, why not? People love their iPads so much that the fashion houses are meeting that global demand with cases and covers that reflect the stylish aesthetic of their high-end customers.

Marc Jacobs iPad Covers

Marc Jacobs

As iPads become more ubiquitous fashion designers are also more inclined to put their aesthetic onto covers and cases that fit these beloved tablets. Last weekend, I put together Tory Burch’s iPad collection. Today, it’s all about Marc Jacobs.

Tory Burch’s iPad Covers

Tory-Burch

I happen to have a very utilitarian iPad case because, well, I drop things a lot and I love my iPad 2 far more than fashion. But, and this is a big but, if you love fashionable iPad cases and you’re not prone to dropping and cracking your prized technology be sure to check out Tory Burch’s iPad case collection.

Luxury Fashion Label Leggiadro Thrives With Microsoft Windows

Leggiadro - Madison Avenue Boutique

I had such a fantastic time visiting Leggiadro last Thursday, my first day in New York for fashion week. I learned so much about luxury garments, Italian fabric makers, why luxury products costs so much (you get what you pay for!), and how clothes go from warehouse sewing machines to the boutique floor. I was given a tour of Leggiadro’s warehouse in the garment district and then had the great opportunity to visit their Madison Avenue boutique as well. I loved learning and seeing first hand that all of Leggiadro’s clothes are made in the United States by hand with amazing European fabrics. You wouldn’t believe the skill and dedication that goes into each limited…

Lenovo Connections Lounge at Fashion Night Out

Lenovo Connections Lounge

Last night was my first experience of Fashion Night Out. Fashion lovers with the most sought-after shoes, handbags and hairstyles were out in force all across Manhattan. When I went out around 6:30 I had high hopes of hitting tons of stores, but I quickly learned I didn’t have the stamina nor the desire to stand in lines that extended blocks long. I need to work on that next year for sure.

Live from Fashion Week

l600

For the rest of the week I will be attending events during Fashion Week. Most of them deal with fashion and technology. In fact, tonight I am going to the Lenovo Lounge at Saks Ffth Avenue for Fashion Night Out where they will be introducing their brand-new sleek, slick, and fashion-forward IdeaPad U300s. It should be a great time.
