Mom Blogging Has Treated Many Well This Year

2012 has been a great year for mom blogging! From my vantage point I have seen moms travel across the country and around the world. I have seen moms get book deals and share their happiness when they instagram their books. I have seen moms start quality, new conferences and garner spokesperson jobs and work closely with brands during some of the country’s biggest events. I have also seen moms serve as experts on national TV and get named to coveted blogging awards.

The trend lines are the same as previous years. More and more mom bloggers are drawing in brand and media opportunities through the quality work they produce on their blogs. I have heard time and time again from women who aren’t bloggers that blogging is a powerful movement; one that affords moms the opportunity to create a bustling business for themselves. It is empowering for women, to be sure.

Every day I see on Twitter and in my Facebook stream the amazing opportunities that mom bloggers celebrate from landing a new brand advocate job to negotiating a lucrative advertising campaign. There are far too many examples to list. It’s wonderful to see and I don’t see the opportunities waning anytime soon.

How has blogging treated you this year? What has been your biggest achievement of 2012?

  1. My biggest accomplishment is starting my own business, for which my blog was a springboard! It’s profitable for the time I spend on it and I can finally contribute substantially to our household income and still homeschool :)

  2. After starting this year with a specialist telling me I wouldn’t even live to see it end, every day has been a blessing and a gift that I do NOT for one split second take for granted. But despite being in and out of the hospital for over one year, I didn’t let my obstacles stand in the way of making this an amazing year of blogging! I landed 2 Brand Ambassadorships, one with Britax and one with Duane Reade, enjoyed front seats during Fashion Week shows, attended a wide variety of blogging conferences, including the Niche Mommy Blogging Conference in New Orleans during it’s inaugral year, I’ve met a wide variety of celebrities including Kristin Chenowith and Giuliana DiPandi for amazing Breast Cancer Awareness Campaigns, Jordin Sparks, Jada Pinkett Smith, interviewed Gerard Butler and so much more. But what was priceless was having flowers show up at my hospital bedside from my readers, brands & PR firms that I collaborated with, it was the most un-expected of the gifts this year has given me, but certainly the most cherished!

And as mentioned above, being a founding member of Social Good Moms, using our online influence to affect positive change means a lot to me. My blog started as a inspiration and Empowerment community and seeking out ways to do good always makes me happy! :)

  3. 2012 has been the best year yet. I’ve connected with many new brands that I’ve been wanting too and even got involved with Marriott (my favorite hotel chain) to sponsor part of our vacation and more recently working with HP on tech opportunities.

It’s so exciting to see what 2012 has brought in terms of success for mom bloggers. I love it!

2012 has been very good to me. I increased my connections with toy companies and was featured on our local news to cover hot holiday toys. Live news?! It was scary at first, but I had an absolute blast!

2013 is going to be extremely exciting! Thank you for all you do Jennifer James to educate the mom blogging world. This has been such an amazing resource. Happy Holidays!

  5. I have had so many great opportunities this past year and I just signed a really big contract a couple of days ago too that I am tickled about. There are tons of opportunities out there still!

  6. While I earn my living as a blogger, and get to travel almost monthly, I’m most excited about my new relationship with Martha Stewart. Champagne Living was chosen as a favorite blog by the editors of Martha Stewart Living and will be featuring posts that I write in the coming year (as well as compensation, etc.).

  7. I attended BlogHer as an amabassador to Bumble Bee Foods for the third year in a row!

  8. Here are my favorite things I’ve been a part of this year:

Becoming one of the Best Buy Blogging Ambassadors, which included a sponsorship to BlogHer to meet everyone, which was such an amazing experience!!

Joining your Global Team of 200, and spreading the word about amazing causes and campaigns!!

Being a part of the new Chef Boyardee ebook – from creating videos of our cooking together, sharing our family traditions, and seeing ourselves in the book – it was a blast to be a part of!!
