Pinterest Updates Its Terms of Service

In light of all the web chatter and concerns about Pinterest’s Terms of Service it’s no wonder Pinterest made it a priority to update their TOS  – stat.

In a blog post that went live yesterday, Updated Pinterest Terms, the founder of Pinterest, Ben Silbermann, and the Pinterest team announced that modifications to their Terms of Service had been made to the uber-popular social networking and digital sharing site. Some of the changes include Pinterest dialing back on their right to sell photos that users pin to their boards. We all know that is a huge no-no, so smartly they nixed that. They also will not allow pins that encourage “self harm and self-abuse”. To be completely honest I never imaged anyone would use the site other than sharing beautiful things, so that was an intelligent move on their part. They also “released simpler tools” for people to claim copyright and trademark infringements. These changes will go into effect on April 6, 2012.
