Walking in the #StrutMoms Show

When I made my blogging and social media predictions for 2012 about mom bloggers and fashion I had no idea it would come true in such a huge way. Last Thursday I was one of several mom bloggers who walked in the StrutMoms fashion show, the very first fashion show for moms, at Lincoln Center during Fashion Week. Strut — The Fashionable Mom Show was put together by Denise Albert and Melissa Gerstein of The Moms, Audrey McClelland and Vera Sweeney of Getting Gorgeous, Holly Pavlika, managing director of Big Fuel, a New York full-service marketing and communications company, and founder of Momentum and Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, director of fashion at Lincoln Center.
It was a fairly surreal experience looking back on it. I actually walked in a real fashion show that was hosted by Iman and has since garnered the attention of the fashion world and national and international press. I was extremely honored to be a part of it!
The morning started with hair and makeup and making sure I was ready for my strut down the runway. Here are my two dresses.

I even got my nails done backstage and four days later they still look phenomenal. Whoever invented shellac nail polish is a sheer genius!

After a brief rehearsal before the guests arrived and a quick change into our pieces we were ready to head down the fall decorated runway courtesy of Douglas Hannant.

I had such a great time walking in the show. I know the next one will be equally as amazing.
Watch the show below.
