Designing Clothes Through Tech

Last week I blogged about United Styles, the Shanghai-based start-up that comped a dress for me to design and try out. United Styles allows you to design your own clothes by choosing a style and then adding your own colors or prints to your piece. Yesterday I received my fit test dress. Once you have designed your piece United Styles will send you an all-black tester dress to try on so they know if it needs to be re-sized.

I am a little in awe of this company. Not only are the clothes affordable (no piece is over $99.95), but you also get to design your dress or top the way you like. And United Styles goes to great lengths to make sure your piece fits. I had no idea they would send a test dress before they send the final piece. I thought I’d design it and it would arrive whether I got the right fit or not because as we all know clothes fit differently. I commend United Styles for taking that into consideration.

I love that the dress came in a nice, little package along with a note about the fit test dress. It also came in plastic wrapping.

As soon as I receive my final dress I will definitely post about it, but for now here is my tester dress.
