Pro Tips to Start Your Own Home Business

Earlier this summer I met Joyce Brewer of Mommy Talk Show at a networking and pre-Blogalicious event and liked her immediately. Smart and eager to learn the ins and outs of blogging  I saw in Joyce what so many bloggers don’t have, but would love to attain: professional media skills.

An Emmy-award winning former television host and journalist, Brewer now produces a local Atlanta web show that highlights women and their businesses. Brewer has used her television experience to interview local women from authors to sleep training experts. Brewer has also turned her web show into a money making business through sponsorships from advertisers.

Last month Brewer stepped into the world of e-book publishing with the release of Use What You Know: A Business Idea Guide for Moms ($10.00). I loved reading Use What You Know because I am a strong believer in searching to learn something new every day. I used Thanksgiving Day to delve into my comped copy and I was not disappointed.

Joyce Brewer featured five successful Atlanta area women business owners who have brilliantly turned a unique idea into a source of income. And what’s even more important is each of these women generously gave her advice about what she would do differently when starting her business or provided lessons she’s learned along the way. Use What You Know is perfect for all businesswomen from bloggers to those running e-retail stores who are always keen to learn from others who have been there, done that.

You will find free and very inexpensive marketing tips from these women and learn how they have pushed from the idea phase to the income generating phase of their business. A brisk 45 pages long you will be able to read Brewer’s e-book in one sitting and return to it time and again for motivation and inspiration to start or improve your current business.
