Must-Read Etiquette Book for Bloggers
Over the years blogging has taken me to fancy restaurants and five star hotels and even corporate boardrooms and along the way I have had to learn the proper way to do everything from deciding whether to still tip when I’m on someone else’s dime to how to read a difficult menu. There is still so much for me to learn so I won’t come off as a complete idiot in uncommon situations.
Last weekend during my jaunts around the web I ran into Pearls of Polish ($15.95), written by Diane Gottsman, the founder of The Protocol School of Texas. Pearls of Polish is not a beauty book, but an etiquette book for today’s busy woman. Yesterday I received my copy and I’ve already read the entire book. It’s that good.
Pearls of Polish provides fantastic tips about the art of networking, how to properly make introductions and greetings, as well as conversation guidelines. Gottsman has even included chapters on parenting and social savvy. I love her section on qualities of a woman of polish and character and soaked up her section on telltale signs of a fraud.
If your 2012 calendar is already filling up with event dates and business meetings and you want to brush up on your etiquette, Pearls of Polish is an exceptional book to get you through situations where you need to present yourself well.
