Lenovo Connections Lounge at Fashion Night Out

Last night was my first experience of Fashion Night Out. Fashion lovers with the most sought-after shoes, handbags and hairstyles were out in force all across Manhattan. When I went out around 6:30 I had high hopes of hitting tons of stores, but I quickly learned I didn’t have the stamina nor the desire to stand in lines that extended blocks long. I need to work on that next year for sure.

I did make my way to the Lenovo Connections Lounge as I intended. It was everything I expected, especially in ultra-luxurious Saks Fifth Avenue.

With techno music as a mesmerizing backdrop, a DJ, servers handing out custom bottles of purified water with Lenovo and Intel branding, and modern white seating, Lenovo showed off its new and thinnest laptop, the Lenovo IdeaPad U300s. Introducing the IdeaPad U300s, lounge-goers were able to test out Lenova’s thinnest laptop well in advance of its November release. In fact, I cannot wait until November to receive a unit that I will review here on Mom Blog magazine. If there is one thing that is imperative to bloggers it’s this:  we need laptops that function well under pressure (ie heavy, heavy use with tons of software downloaded on it) and if it’s gorgeous, too, well, that’s just gravy!

Lenovo has switched its stance on its consumer branding to include a savvier design aesthetic for their laptops hence launching during this year’s Fashion Night Out. By improving its technology with a glass touchpad, longer battery life, a cooling keyboard (this is so important!), and a 10.5 second boot time Lenovo is banking on its ability to deliver the goods and looks.

From the oohs and aahs I heard last night Lenovo is definitely onto something!
