Interview With Kimberley Clayton Blaine
You have probably heard about Kimberley Clayton Blaine from her many books or her web series sponsored by Sony. Now Clayton Blaine is crisscrossing the country as a spokesperson for three brands. See how she does it.
James: Last year we saw some really fun, yet informative shows from www.MommytoMommy.TV. What types of shows are you planning for the new season?
Clayton Blaine: Sony has signed on this year again to sponsor a few shows, so we’ll be doing branded entertainment shows around their digital products. We’ve also changed the format around a bit making the segments more documentary style and less talk-showish. We hope to make moms laugh again. We’re known for being very silly and over-the-top at times!
James: We heard you have landed a few new spokesperson deals. Most people are thrilled with one, so you must be especially happy. How did those great opportunities come about?
Clayton Blaine: The Go-To Mom.TV is very family focused I tend to lean towards brands that improve the quality of life for children and for parents. Networking in real life and promoting what I do best has been the turning point for me in the last five years. I make a concerted effort to show up to meet companies in person, to learn the depths of their messaging and campaigns and how they affect families. I’m beyond thrilled to have signed on as the national media spokesperson for Lego Duplo, Disney Consumer Products and Ladies Schick Intuition Razors.
I will be traveling around the country making television appearances on behalf of those brands for the remainder of 2011 – which is very exciting because the focus of The Go-To Mom.TV platform is the visual and communicating through digital media.
James: You are a busy mom and businesswoman. What plans do you have for the rest of 2011?
Clayton Blaine: In between my media tour I will be spending time with my kids. When filming www.MommytoMommy.TV I try to have the family stay w/me after we’ve wrapped the job — that way they can enjoy the space with mommy after hours! Honestly, I love to work, it feeds my soul. So I’m sure I’ll be mapping out my entire 2012 campaigns before 2011 is over, and that ain’t no joke! Oy.
