MJ Tam, Founder of Chicagonista, Lands New Media Job With Chicago Toy and Game Fair
“I’ve been working with the Chicago Toy and Game Fair (ChiTag) for the past 3 years now as a support person,” explained Tam. “I’ve always been a supporter of what ChiTag stands for. They have great programs like the Young Inventor’s Challenge and such that could
really use some social media attention.”
Jennifer James: Can you tell me more about your job and how it all came about.
MJ Tam: I became even more involved at the 2010 Chitag Fair and got more new media folks to learn about the fair. I really clicked with the Chitag Fair creator Mary Couzin and Marketing Director, Mary Kay Russell. After several conversations I finally accepted the Director of New Media Relations position. There are so many fun ideas in store already and I can’t wait to get my hands dirty. The group really respects and realizes the importance of having parent bloggers attend Chitag. It was a match made in heaven for me. Chitag is a company that cares about what I do in Chicagonista and still foster the many ideas I have in bringing the mom blogging community in with the fair.
My job is to help plan, guide and influence the direction of online and other forms of new media campaigns and initiatives to further promote the Chicago Toy and Game Fair.
